Catch Up

Well, a lot has happened over the last couple of months. I'll recap starting with May 1st. The day after I finished student teaching I graduated with my masters in secondary education. This is the only picture I have with some of my school mates. Notice the smile on my face, it was very real and stayed on my face the entire commencement. Student teaching was very hard, very rewarding and at that moment, it was very over.

Right after graduation we hopped on a plane for California where we stayed at the Lawrence Welk resort with Brent's family. No pictures but the one of Darwin with the curls on the beach is from that trip. It was a well needed vacation after student teaching, and I even got to go to Disneyland on my Birthday for free!

Then the long awaited day of Brent's medical school graduation came on May 23rd. The graduation ceremony made me cry. Most of our marriage has been centered around the completion of this degree and it seems surreal that it is now over. We have had four wonderful years living in Salt Lake City.

My cute boys.

(Somehow I am starting to look a lot like Pete's Dragon lately.)

We got our Penske truck and loaded up most of our things from storage the day before so that we could have one last party with friends the evening after Brent walked. Brent's parents were nice enough to let us use their backyard. They were great to live with for three months and I'm not just saying that.

It was so nice to see our friends one last time. We have such good friends and will miss them very much. Sorry this picture is so far away, I guess Andy and Jason wanted to act natural.

The next day we loaded up the last of our belongings and drove to Vernal for the night before making our long trek to Minnesota. The first day we drove through Wyoming and it was one of the most beautiful days I've ever seen. The clouds were so low with long cast of sunlight shining through on the green mountains.
Since it was Memorial Day the radio played, 'Proud to be an American' twice and as I was singing along I thought for sure it was a sign that we were going to the right place when the phrase,"From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennesse."

And yes James, I did cry just like Dede did when we left Utah.

So much more to write about and there will be plenty more to come. We spent a week in Virginia beach, Darwin just got two new bottom teeth coming in and we painted our house inside and out.

By the way, Darwin says hello and that he misses everyone in Utah...more pictures of him are headed your way.

Congrats to you. Congrats to Brent. And congrats to Darwin (you know, on the teeth). You'll just have to blog more often since you are so far away now. That last picture is to die for.

Four things:

1. I look like young Annakin in the new Star Wars series.

2. I cried my eyeballs out when we pulled out of SLC, too.

3. Congratulations on your graduation! I didn't even know you were all done but should have figured it out.

4. WHICH Virginia Beach? MY Virginia Beach? If so, you're dead meat.

Good update. I never said congratulations for graduating, but seriously, congratulations. I'm actually kind of jealous of your masters degree. Maybe I'll have to get one someday.

You already painted your house? It's amazing what you can do without the internet.

Scarlet and I are looking at your post and this is what she wanted to tell baby Darwin "I love you, good bye...pretzels...church." I am so glad we got to see you before you left. I can't wait to hear all about your adventures in Minnesota:) I want to chew on Darwin, he just might be TOO cute.

Bridgett, we get it already, Darwin is cuter than Miles. You don't have to keep posting amazing pictures of him. Gosh.

p.s. Glad everything is going good and you're staying busy and you guys made it there safe.
